Week 13 Reading Reflection

  1. One thing that surprised me was all that should be analyzed about a business when potentially buying it.  I never realized how many different things need to be taken into account before you make the decision on purchasing it.
  2. One thing that confused me was all the different methods for a venture valuation.  Again, I just didn't know that there were so many ways to place value on tangible items and even intangible items.  It's just something where I have to keep looking into or getting more information on to fully understand.
  3. Two questions I have for the author are:
    1. Could there be anther method for venture valuation other than the ones listed?
      • This is just something that is interesting to think about because maybe there is another way to place value on companies that we just haven't realized yet.
    2. Are there certain valuation methods that are more beneficial for certain types of companies?
      • This could be important since certain companies could utilize this if they are in need of applying value to another company they are interested in purchasing.
  4. I don't disagree with anything, I agreed with everything the author said.
