- I feel that I am an outgoing person that likes to take the initiative on things. I like taking leadership roles as well as being there to see things transform from just an idea all the way to actual implementation. I aspire one day to eventually run my own firm and be there to ensure that it operates as intended. If I were to start a business from my opportunity I would think that it would take up a major part in my life. I think this because it would be essentially my "baby" and I would want to see it grow from just an idea I had for a class into something that people everywhere could use and appreciate.
- I would be offering a way for customers to use a cab service for an amount of times, whether that be unlimited or a set number, by having them prepay in monthly or yearly increments.
- The demographic I would specifically target would be the 18 to 30 range of young adults. This group is known to be the most common users of cab services, especially when they are on college campuses.
- This service would allow for them to prepay in monthly or yearly increments for the service. When compared to if the customer were to just pay per ride, they would be saving a lot of money with my service because of the bulk purchase in the increments specified above.
- This would set me apart from the rest because I would be the only company offering this service to customers. This would allow for me to be the sole company in this area of the economy.
I feel that these elements fit together really well. They all connect to each other to cohesively create a service that has not been seen before. This would allow for great profits for the company and greater customer happiness. I feel that if I were to continue with this idea and see it all the way through to implementation, I would be amazed at how fantastic it would turn out as well as make a positive impact on the economy and society as a whole.
Hi Matthew, what an interesting idea! My idea also relates to transportation around the UF campus. Making the cabs prepaid would certainly set you apart from others in operation, like Uber or regular taxi cabs. One thing to think about is how much you would have to charge people to be able to make money. For example, what if the prepaid amount was really low and the person used the cab everyday? Or vice versa, where the subscription is too high so that people don't feel they've gotten their money's worth? Anyways, I'm interested to see what you come up with. ReplyDeleteHi! I think this is a really great idea! I never thought of how paying in advance really does help save money, because now the rates wont change because of gas prices and stuff. Also I feel like with this kind of company the cab drivers themselves will be less likely to take you the long way to try to get more money out of you. I feel like with enough thought and math one could figure out an alright price that would be reasonable to college students and other people everywhere. ReplyDeleteI never thought of prepaid taxi service before. This concept will undoubtedly cause ride sharing apps like Uber or Lyft to adapt to your new pay model. I think once you determine the flat rate and the logistics of how everything will fall into place, I think your concept will set the new trend for taxiing. Great post!
